Foot and Ankle Denervation
Foot and ankle denervation can be particularly helpful for patients with ankle, hindfoot, midfoot, and forefoot arthritis and plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonopathy.
Multiple studies have recently popularized a deep peroneal nerve denervation for mid- and hindfoot arthritis. This procedure has been shown to be safe, effective, with quick recovery times.
For patients with chronic ankle or hind-foot pain a deep peroneal nerve denervation can be combined with a tarsal tunnel release and denervation of the medial ankle and hindfoot as well as achilles tendinopathy. A denervation of baxter’s nerve can help reduce pain in plantar fasciitis.
