Meet Dr. Josh Hustedt

Dr. Josh Hustedt, MD/MHS

Founder

Dr. Josh Hustedt is a double board certified hand and upper extremity surgeon in Phoenix, AZ. He has pioneered surgical techniques in denervation and is an expert in denervation in all the joints in the body including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, knee, and foot and ankle. He provides destination orthopedic care in Phoenix, AZ. He is the founder of the Joint Denervation Consortium, the Knee Treatment Research Group, and the Interventional Orthopedics Society. 

Dr. Hustedt earned his undergraduate degree at Stanford University.  While at Stanford, Dr. Hustedt was selected as a two-time NCAA All-American and was the Stanford and Pac-12 record holder in the multi-event competition in track and field.  He was also a three-time Academic All-American, was awarded Stanford’s top Scholar Athlete award, and received the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for excellence in athletics and academics.   

Dr. Hustedt then completed medical doctorate and masters degrees at Yale University, an orthopedics residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, and a hand, upper extremity, and peripheral nerve surgery fellowship at Duke University. 

Dr. Hustedt has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and presents his research at multiple orthopedic conferences across the country each year.  His research has garnered dozens of prestigious national awards, including the Sumner Koch research award from the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and multiple editor’s choice selections in the Journal of Hand Surgery.
